Pottery wheel Nidec Shimpo RK-55 is designed especially for home or occasional creation hobbies. Furthermore, it is ideal as a pottery wheel for children. It has stepless variable speed and is thus the most affordable free standing wheel with electronic speed control in our market. The pottery wheel at its low weight is surprisingly powerful. The centering capacity is up to 12 kg of ceramic clay. 

Lightweight and compact

The RK-55 wheel is driven by a flat belt drive where a special tensioning mechanism with a built-in spring is installed. If necessary, the belt can be easily tensioned. Thanks to its low weight of 23 kg it can be easily transported, such as summertimes spent at a cottage. 

Noise and cleaning

The RK-55 pottery wheel has a noise level of approximately 55 dB during operation. The delivery includes a two-part splash pan, which is equipped with a proven quick-release system for easy and quick removal of the splash pan for tool-free cleaning. It is made of durable smooth plastic, so it is easy to wash.  

Speed control

The pottery wheel does not require special conditions: it can handle a normal household electrical socket (230 V), has a minimum power consumption (100 W) and its design is energy efficient. The wheelhead is driven by a transmission belt and the speed is controlled by a stepless adjustable foot pedal from 0 to 250 rpm. The direction of rotation of the wheelhead can be changed easily with the switch - set it clockwise or counterclockwise depending on whether you are right or left-handed, or as you are used to. The pottery wheel has electronic overload protection to protect it from damage. 

Aluminium wheelhead and table for tools

The wheelhead is made out of light aluminum alloy with a diameter of 300 mm and is equipped with centering grooves. You will also appreciate the practical table with plenty of space for bowl with water and pottery tools. Pottery wheel RK-55 has a stable three-leg construction, but it is not height adjustable compared to more expensive models of Nidec Shimpo pottery wheels.
