Reacts quickly and is quiet

The RK-3D pottery wheel uses the most modern direct drive technology. The wheelhead of the wheel is located directly on the motor axis without using any gears, belts, gearbox, etc. Thanks to the design solution, the RK-3D wheel does not vibrate, which you will appreciate especially when throwing tall and narrow shapes. Torque does not drop even at low speeds, reacts very quickly and is extremely quiet - only 30 dB.

Speed control

The pottery wheel is plugged into a standard 230 V household power socket. It consumes 400 W, which is very low, and its design is extremely energy efficient. The wheelhead is driven by direct connection and the wheelhead speed is stepless controled by the foot pedal or hand lever from 0 up to 250 rpm. You can easily change the direction of rotation of the wheelhead by turning the switch - clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on how you are accustomed. The pottery wheel has electronic protection against overloading and against sudden turning of the wheelhead in case of power failure. The risk of destroying the goods and the wheel is minimized. 

Aluminium wheelhead, tool table and cleaning

The wheelhead is made out of light aluminum alloy with a diameter of 300 mm and is equipped with centering grooves. The advantage of the ceramic wheel RK-3D is the free rotation of the wheelhead at zero speed, thanks to which the wheel can be used as a decorative turntable for ceramics decoration. With a weight of 45 kg and a height-adjustable leveling foot, the pottery wheel is stable during work. Included is a two-part splash pan with two clips for easy and quick disassembly of the splash pan when cleaning without tools. It is made out of durable smooth plastic, so it is easy to wash. For cleaning, the turntable can be easily removed with the Allen key supplied in the package. 

The Nidec Shimpo RK-3D pottery wheel has the same power and motor as the RK-3E, but does not offer that much flexibility. Compared to 3E, for example, it is not possible to adjust the height of the wheel, it has a fixed pedal with lever, no table for tools, two splash pan clips, and can not be used as a table-top model.
